Jessica C. Wakeman, L.Ac., MSOM |
Jessica C. Wakeman is an acupuncturist, herbalist, clinical hypnotherapist and all around health and wellness explorer. She completed a Masters in Oriental Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley (AIMC), where she held internships at the San Francisco’s Homeless Prenatal Program and Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, specializing in integrative cancer care. She is a certified Medical Qigong practitioner, a Cranial Sacral practitioner and a Clinical Hypnotherapist (or guided imagery), techniques that support Chinese medicine in creating balance and clearing obstacles to growth in the levels of the body, mind and spirit.
The desire to work in cancer care was Jessica's initial path to becoming a Chinese medicine practitioner. Her background in writing led her to bridge her interests as a writing coach at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, offering patients the space to express and facilitate the words to heal through writing. This experience inspired her to become a healthcare practitioner. She continues to write and serves as the Editor and Chief of the Journal of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine (JAIM), a publication of the California State Oriental Medicine Association (CSOMA). Jessica specializes in treating stress, fertility & reproductive health and integrative cancer care. |
