Leah K. Richard's love for medicine began at a young age, fascinated with learning about health and the human body. Following her passion, she obtained a Pre-Medical Degree at UCSB in Bio-psychology. After graduating, Leah moved to San Francisco and worked in Client Services in the Litigation Technology Industry before returning to graduate school to study medicine. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley where she was trained in both Chinese and Japanese styles of diagnosis and treatment. In addition to being an intern at AIMC's clinic, Leah also volunteered her time providing auricular treatments at the Oakland Senior Citizen Center as well as gained valuable experience at the San Francisco's Homeless Prenatal Program, providing care for pregnant and postpartum women, children and other members of the family.
Leah is licensed in the State of California to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and is a member of California State Oriental Medicine Association. She is the owner and currently practicing at Origin Integrative Health Center in Pleasanton, CA. With a background in Western sciences and graduate degree in Eastern medicine, Leah takes an integrative approach to the health care of her patients. Her utmost concern is getting each patient on track to the healthiest person they can be by collaborating with any and all health practitioners involved to ensure that goal is met. With over 10 years of Customer Service experience, Leah makes every effort to ensure each patient feels comfortable, and safe in each treatment session. Leah grew up in the Central Valley and lived in San Francisco for 8 years before moving to Livermore with her husband and children. She enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling anywhere and everywhere! |
